Welcome to Paul's Riddle Page

Life ain't nothing but a funny, funny riddle...

Welcome to my Riddle page, which is a collection of the best riddles I've heard. All of the riddles here (with the exception of the "Word Riddles") can be viewed as logic puzzles -- no gimicks or tricks, no words or phrases with double-meanings or ambiguous statements. In other words, they can each be solved by critical thinking, deduction, and logical reasoning alone (and perhaps, for some problems, a pencil and paper).

Some of the riddles have different variants, with Easy, Medium, and/or Hard versions available. Additionally, the riddles are introduced through a story, but you can skip to the Succinct Riddle if you just want a short presentation of the riddle and the key information you'll need to solve it. There are Hints available, which you can choose to read if you get stuck -- typically the hints are fairly substantial (revealing more and more of the answer strategy) as you continue reading down the list of hints; so give the riddles a good think before yielding to the temptation of reading the hints. For a riddle is like a thrilling story in a book or movie, whereby only once do you get to experience it for the first time (and have the opportunity and satisfcation of solving it on your own).

The riddles are grouped by category/theme. Enjoy!
